LIBELLE GROUP - COVID UPDATE TO ALL  SCHOOL CLIENTS
DATE: 03/11/21 TOPIC: COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021
COMMUNICATION CHANNELS: ALL
RELEVANT TO: ALL

Kia ora,

Libelle have been proactively following the developments around the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021. We have sought legal advice, and we are currently working through our internal human resources processes that are required. All Libelle staff working at your school, or who may come into contact with students or children while onsite at your school, or who may be onsite at your school while students or children may be present, will be compliant with the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.

The legal advice we have also received is that in the Order there is no ability for Libelle to pass on vaccination information about our staff to schools. This is private medical information and as such is protected by the Privacy Act. Schools have their own obligations to collect information from the Ministry of Health directly, and we have been advised to recommend that you contact the Ministry of Health, and also seek legal advice, around accessing and using this information.

We’d like to reassure you that as always, the safety of the students, school staff, Libelle staff, and local communities is our paramount consideration and at the heart of all we do.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch.

Kia ora,

The following email and additional attachments are to update you all on Libelle Group’s position regarding COVID-19.

In the coming days and weeks we will all be facing some huge challenges, working together as a collective is more important now than ever. We will be doing everything we can to support our people, our clients and our customers. Please reach out if you have any questions, comments or concerns. As the Libelle Group family we are ready to mobilize our kitchens, our resources and our people to support our communities and respond to any requests by government agencies.

We are facing an unprecedented and extremely challenging time in New Zealand and throughout the World with the outbreak of COVID–19. It is beginning to and will impact our daily lives and it seems likely that this disruption will increase over the coming days.

As the World contends with the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, the health and safety of our employees, clients and customers remains our top priority. We are taking steps and coordinating a considered, appropriate and relevant response for our people, clients and organisation and will ensure the continued servicing of our school tuckshops unless we receive an alternate directive from the New Zealand Government, from our school clients or from the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Attached is an in-depth update as to where we are currently at with the Covid-19 outbreak (Covid-19 Libelle Group Ltd Update 16/03/2020). Also attached is a fact sheet about Covid-19 (Covid-19 Libelle Group Ltd Information Sheet 16/03/2020) and a hand washing resource from the World Health organisation (WHO hand wash poster (BPS)).

The following protocols are now in place for Libelle Group. It should be noted that these directives are subject to change as the situation continues to evolve.
  • Exposure – If any of our staff have been, or suspects that they have, been in contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19, they have been instructed toNOT SHOW UP TO WORK and let their manager know immediately. They will be required to stay away from the workplace and self-isolate as per theMinistry of Health’s self-isolation guidelines. Libelle Group will inform affected staff and building tenants and carry out all necessary sanitisation protocols.
  • Illness - Again, our staff have been instructed to immediately let their managers or team co-ordinators know if they have, or suspect they might have, been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. They are to STAY AWAY FROM WORK if they have a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. If they have any of these symptoms they will not come back in to work until the symptoms have gone.
  • Travelling from overseas / Returning from overseas -  Employees who may have plans to travel to countries with high infection rates at present; China, South Korea, Italy and Iran should seek advice on whether to travel. Some countries are closing their borders, (USA has closed its borders to Europe). All staff returning from overseas are required (by the NZ government) to self-isolate for 2 weeks. This will be strictly enforced. More information can be found at the Ministry of Health’s self-isolation guidelines.
  • Food control plan safety and training – Our staff have been instructed to take extra precautionary measures when it comes to their food safety and handling standards and a reminder to follow the best practice food safety within our current MPI registered food control plan. Some basic advice from the WHO -  regularly and thoroughly wash your hands as per the attached resource. Maintain social distancing (i.e. at least 1 metre between yourself and anyone coughing or sneezing). Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Follow cough protocols – cover your mouth or nose with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of tissues immediately and if you can, avoid shaking hands.
  • Advice of Face Masks – As per the World Health Organization advice, face masks are not recommended for most people as there is limited evidence that they prevent the spread of disease. Good cough etiquette and hand hygiene will have a bigger impact. Information about the effectiveness of face masks and how to wear and remove them is available on the World Health Organization website.
  • Contingency Planning – The Libelle Group Support Office will be discussing a contingency plan if the COVID-19 situation worsens.
We will keep you all updated and continue to monitor and follow the directives of the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization as we collectively take up the fight against the spread of Covid-19 in New Zealand.

Please feel free to contact myself directly with any questions or concerns that you may have.

We will be communicating regular updates to all Libelle Group personnel together with our school business managers, school principals, general public, student customers and managers.

Thank you all for your ongoing support and understanding as we navigate through these uncertain times. We will get through this together.
